Dear Amma
2021
My mother started her career as a health worker in the year 1988. Over the past 33 years of service, working from different corners of Kerala, she raised a family, built a home, and aided thousands of people. The project started when she was in the twilight of her career, serving her last few months as a health worker in the year 2021. Revisiting my memories and anecdotes as a daughter, I'm investigating the life of my mother, who led a force of frontline workers at pivotal moments that shaped history and served the duties expected of women without fail. Examining our family's dynamics and the pervasive influence of patriarchal norms, I explore how these constructs have been deeply ingrained within a family.
